ACR Elmdale Stove, class in glass

We have revamped our stove accessories section

Buy NowIt is fair to say that the ACR Elmdale Stove is larger than your traditional stove but it is a beauty! Designed specifically for large inglenook fireplaces it offers a traditional matching steel canopy but the glass viewing area is something very different. Described as a contemporary stove, which is perfectly correct, the steel canopy just gives it that old-fashioned old-world look. So what else does the ACR Elmdale Stove have to offer?

Design of the ACR Elmdale Stove

Despite the fact that the new design regulations do not come into play until 2022 this stove is already SIA EcoDesign ready. We cannot reiterate how much this will be worth in the long-term as governments around the world continue to tighten regulations regarding the use of stoves, especially in smoke control areas. It is also worth noting the beautifully angled glass door which is very different to anything you will probably have seen before. The way in which it is designed gives an even greater viewing area from which you can watch the flickering flames and the burning embers until your heart’s content.

The introduction of a widescreen viewing area is bang on trend at the moment but it is safe to say that ACR, in the shape of the Elmdale Stove, are well ahead of the game!

Tech Spec for the ACR Elmdale Stove

As you might have guessed, due to the large canopy, the ACR Elmdale Stove has dimensions of height 1590 mm, width 800 mm and a depth of 500 mm. The machine has a flue diameter of 150 mm and an efficiency rating of 79.3%. The stove is targeted towards larger rooms with a heat output of 9 kW nominal (between 4.5 kW and 11.5 kW) with a maximum log length of 450 mm. The machine also has the latest in fuel burn technology, this one is wood fuel only, and an airwash system that ensures the viewing area is clear at all times.

An issue which will become more important as the years go by, this stove is also DEFRA approved for use in smoke control areas. The style, the design and the fact that it is already compliant with future EcoDesign regulations has certainly put the ACR Elmdale Stove on the map.

Summary

There is no doubt that the extended glass viewing area was a masterstroke by ACR. It opens up the whole front of the stove and significantly improves the visual impact. The large canopy is in many ways a throwback to years gone by, giving a subtle yet distinctive traditional twist. Offering 9 kW nominal heat output the ACR Elmdale Stove is obviously targeted towards the larger room market. However, that does not stop us from admiring this masterpiece from a distance.
