What can we expect from the new Arada Lagom 4 stove?

Those who follow the woodburning stove market will certainly have heard of Arada stoves. This is a company which is selective, proactive and able to perfectly read the consumer market. The introduction of the Arada Lagom 4 stove will come as no surprise to those who have bought Arada stoves in the past, although they may be used to a more traditional box style look. The Arada Lagom 4 stove is certainly very different, as you can see from the image!

There are two particular models, the ceramic version and the steel version which are slightly different:-

Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove

As you can see from the image of the Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove this is a very modern, very eye-catching cylindrical shape. It has a style which has proven very popular over the years and the ceramic white touch has gone down a storm. It is the contrast between the front black area and the surrounding white ceramic which really stands out. There is also a very useful integrated storage area for your kindling or stove tools. No more running backwards and forwards for wood on those cold winter evenings!

Many of the leading stove manufacturers in the UK have been extremely proactive with regards to new regulations. As a consequence, it will be no surprise to learn that the woodburning Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove is already Ecodesign Ready. These regulations don’t actually become law until 1 January 2022, so Arada is well ahead of the game. As you would expect from a renowned stove manufacturer, there is a 10 year guarantee on the body of the Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove. This is certainly a mark of quality and confidence from the company which has been well received by consumers. So, what are the technical aspects of the Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove?

As the name suggests, this is a 4 kW output stove which is suitable for wood fuel. Interestingly, the energy efficiency rating of the stove is 80.5% which is very impressive. We live in a world where consumers demand more efficiency, governments are introducing tighter regulations and some stove manufacturers are being squeezed out of the market – not so with Arada. This stove has dimensions of width 528 mm, height 996 mm and a depth of 398 mm with the stove weighing in at wondering 23 kg (unpacked).

There are some other interesting features with the Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove which include the self-closing door, very important for safety. The air controls are discreetly placed and very easy-to-use. The flue is 6 inches with the option of a top or rear outlet giving a degree of flexibility with regards to where you position your stove. It is not difficult to see why the ceramic version is already causing a stir amongst consumers. It is eye-catching, efficient and offers excellent value for money!

Arada Lagom 4 steel stove

While basically the same specifications as the Arada Lagom 4 ceramic stove, the Arada Lagom 4 steel stove is a little different from an aesthetic point of view. While the white ceramic surround is proving popular, many people prefer to go for a traditional coloured stove with different shades of black. This is a woodburning stove able to create nominal heat output of 4 kW which is more than enough to heat a small to medium-sized room. Many stoves of this physical size will offer greater heat output but this stove gives those with small to medium size rooms some additional options. There is no doubt it also looks impressive!

The Arada Lagom 4 steel stove also comes with a storage area for wood and tools but the dimensions are slightly different from the ceramic version. The stove has a width of 528 mm, height of 974 mm and a depth of 398 mm, weighing in at 123 kg. The energy efficiency rating is exactly the same as the ceramic version at 80.5% and you won’t be surprised to learn it is also Ecodesign Ready. The rear/top optional flue outlet means that you can pretty much place this machine anywhere in your chosen room. The cylindrical shape of the Arada Lagom 4 steel stove means that the viewing area is actually larger than you first think. What better way to spend those cold winter evenings than watching the flickering flames and the burning embers?

Summary

There’s no doubt that the Arada Lagom 4 stove, available in steel and ceramic, will be a major hit amongst consumers. It has the look, the feel of a modern stove, a larger than expected viewing area and is extremely fuel-efficient. As we touched on above, many stoves of a similar size will have greater heat output, thereby focusing on medium to large rooms. As the heat output with this particular machine is 4 kW it is perfect for small to medium size rooms, offering what for many is a welcome option.
