New Arada woodburning stoves

Arada Holborn 7 Wood Burning/Multifuel Stove

There is no doubt that Arada Stoves is one of the more forwardthinking, innovative and consumer conscious stove companies in the UK. The group has an array of different stove styles, everything from traditional to contemporary, as well as a variety of heat outputs to accommodate different size rooms. It will probably come as no surprise to learn that the company has announced the forthcoming release of three new wood-burning stoves. While detail is few and far between at this moment in time, with Arada keeping everything under wraps, we can guess some of the detail from the stove names.

You will no doubt have noticed that the majority of successful stove companies tend to focus on the area around 5 kW. This is enough to heat both a small room and a medium size room and is in effect the mass-market part of the industry. So, we can safely assume that the Arada Holborn 5 Woodburning Stove is a 5 kW machine targeted at the small to medium size room sector. So what else do we know about the machine?

It will no doubt have a traditional type look but on closer inspection probably an array of contemporary elements. The Arada Holborn 5 Woodburning Stove is certain to make use of the company’s latest combustion technology which allows fuel to be burnt, re-burnt and burnt again. This not only maximises efficiency but also reduce emissions in line with the ever-changing green revolution regulations. Those who are attracted to woodburning stoves will also be aware that the ability to watch the flickering flames and the burning embers is paramount. So, the airwash system which is standard in all Arada Stoves ensures the viewing area is clear at all times.

It would also appear that the Arada Holborn 5 Woodburning Stove has the option of a multifuel kit which will further expand the potential market and consumer base.

Over the last few weeks we have written about a number of widescreen stoves as this is an area which is growing in popularity. The forthcoming release of the Arada Holborn 5 Widescreen Woodburning Stove was probably to be expected and complements the other widescreen stoves currently available (both with Arada and other stove companies). We can probably assume that the extended viewing area consists of the glass from the yet to be released Arada Holborn 7 Woodburning Stove which is a strategy we have seen with other Arada stoves.

In effect this is exactly the same as the Arada Holborn 5 Woodburning Stove except the addition of a widescreen viewing area. This gives a greater opportunity to watch more flickering flames and burning embers and enjoy the heat and ambience it creates. Unless you have actually been in a room with a wood-burning stove in full flow this is a heat which is difficult to explain. Deep-seated is probably as close as we can get but it does literally change the whole atmosphere of your room. Again, there is the option of adding a multifuel kit so that you can use not only wood but also solid fuel going forward.

Some people may be a little surprised that we have not seen the announcement of a widescreen version of the Arada Holborn 7 Woodburning Stove to go with the forthcoming stove. The reality is that the 5 kW market, as opposed to the 7 kW market with the Arada Holborn 7 Woodburning Stove, is what is best described as the mass market. That is not to say they will not release an Arada Holborn 7 Widescreen Woodburning Stove but maybe not just yet. This ensures the focus is on the Arada Holborn 5 Woodburning Stove and Arada Holborn 7 Woodburning Stove versions. Obviously, with the enhanced heat production this particular stove is more targeted towards medium to large room sizes. Can you imagine returning home from a hard day at the office to the all-encompassing heat created by the Arada Holborn 7 Woodburning Stove?

As we touched on above, all Arada stoves come with the latest in combustion technology allowing fuel and particles to be burnt, re-burnt and burnt again. This is a win-win situation, the more fuel burnt the more heat is created, the more fuel burnt the fewer emissions. You will probably have seen various references to the ever tightening environmental regulations surrounding the use of wood-burning and multifuel stoves. There are many scare stories around but the fact remains that companies such as Arada seem to be one step ahead of the regulators. Many stoves even abide by future regulations which do not come in for at least a couple of years.

Summary

The introduction of yet another widescreen stove is no surprise to those who watch the industry. Consumer preferences have changed over the last few years and it is safe to say that widescreen stoves are the new base trend. When you consider that the main benefit of a stove is the deep seated heat and the ambience it creates, we can safely say there will be more to follow in months to come.

It was also a masterstroke to introduce both the Arada Holborn 5 Woodburning Stove versions and the Arada Holborn 7 Woodburning Stove together with optional multifuel kits. There are many consumers who prefer multifuel stoves, and the options this gives with regards to fuel, so this will perfectly fit in with their requirements. If you take a step back and look at this from a distance, it all looks very easy, but gauging long-term consumer trends, digging down into the detail and actually creating a stove in time to take advantage of these trends is not easy.

We expect there will be significant interest in the array of new Arada stoves and no doubt a shortage of stock in the early days.
