Hwam woodburning stoves

Choosing a stove for your room

For those with an interest in woodburning stoves it is not very difficult to spot the distinctive style of a Hwam woodburning stove. Interestingly, the company is one of Denmark’s larger bespoke stoves manufacturers but unlike many competitors it only has a history which goes back 40 years as opposed to well over 100 years in some cases. What the company lacks in history it certainly makes up in terms of enthusiasm and innovation – it is amazing how quickly the company has become a recognised figure and a very popular brand.

Like so many of the Scandinavian stove companies Hwam has remained true to its roots working from the original factory and employing the same personnel. There have obviously been expansions in the workforce as sales across Europe continue to grow but the methods used and the location remain unchanged.

Characteristics of a Hwam stove

The vast majority of Hwam woodburning stoves are cylindrical in shape with the company signature an expanded viewing area always prevalent. It is the ability to sit back and watch the embers flicker and burn after a hard day at the office which has made this particular brand extremely popular not just across Europe but across the world. The company has worked on an array of efficiency improvements and even taken on board the recent appetite for phone apps with an app that lets you know when the machine is running low on fuel!

The stoves themselves come in an array of different sizes and whether you have a traditional property or perhaps a contemporary decor there is no doubt this type of stove will fit in perfectly. While not necessarily the cheapest on the market there is no doubt that with a Hwam woodburning stoves you get what you pay for and in this instance you are paying for quality.

Hwam 2610 stove

Even though the Hwam 2610 stove is the smaller of the Hwam range do not underestimate the power of this impressive stove. The heat output is 4.5 kW which makes it more suitable for smaller rooms and it will certainly make a difference to the temperature. The stove offers a very impressive expanded front viewing area and there are also glass panels on the side. Thankfully this particular model is also fitted with a glass cleaning system which ensures that excess dirt and soot does not impact the visual enjoyment.

The heat output is officially 4.5 kW up to 7 kW meaning that it is perfect for a smaller room but can also accommodate a medium-size room. Again, the enlarged viewing area is what draws your attention to this model allowing you to watch the flickering embers and the burning ashes. Is there any more relaxing scene?

One of the first things that hits you about the Hwam 3110 stove, and other Hwam stoves, is the craftsmanship, the attention to detail and the fact that due to impressive internal systems it is simply a case of loading up the fuel and the stove will do the rest. As we touched on above, Hwam may only been around for 40 years and is still playing catch-up with competitors but what it lacks in history it certainly makes up for in enthusiasm and innovation.
