Hopefully, your stove will have performed admirably over the winter, keeping you and\u00a0your home warm and cosy.<\/p>\n<p>Even though it is now getting warmer, you will\u00a0probably be still using your stove over Spring, albeit more sparingly.<\/p>\n<p>But nevertheless, spring is an ideal time to give your stove a clean and check for any maintenance jobs that may be required.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-922-1\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-922-1-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-922-1-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"1\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Paying someone else to do it<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>If you don't fancy cleaning your stove, you could always get someone else to do it.\u00a0If you're getting your chimney swept, then it is possible\u00a0they may offer a to clean and service your stove\u00a0as well. Just ensure that they are HETAS registered engineers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-922-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-922-2-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-922-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Start with the inside of your stove.<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Before you do anything, ensure you\u00a0have allowed enough time for your stove to cool. You don't want to be\u00a0burnt.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, using a dustpan and brush or a hoover, remove all the debris and ash from inside the stove.<\/p>\n<p>Once all the ash and debris has been\u00a0cleaned out, remove all the internal parts\u00a0like the\u00a0firebricks and ash pan. Just remember that firebricks can crack when handled so be cautious. This is a good time to check for damage to these parts as there is no point cleaning them if they are to be replaced.<\/p>\n<p>Now clean the internal firebox again, use a wire brush if required for hard-to-reach areas as you will have missed some areas.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, clean all the parts you have removed separately before placing them back into the stove. You can then\u00a0clean it using a suitable glass cleaner and inspect for any\u00a0damage.If your glass is cracked then it must be replaced.<\/p>\n<p>Check the\u00a0rope seal on the door. If it is worn or loose then replace it with a new one. it is important to do this otherwise smoke can leak into your room.
