While this has proven to be extremely popular in the relatively short time we have been “live” we have been shocked by the interest in our range of bespoke handmade garden furniture. Due to our market research we knew there was demand for bespoke furniture but not to the level we have seen in recent weeks!
Why is bespoke handmade garden furniture so popular?
One of the main problems with traditional garden furniture is the fact that you can’t personalise it, you can’t stamp your style on it and many people are concerned about value for money. Mass made products do certainly have a place in the market but as more and more people spend time in their gardens, adding plants and enjoying social events, many feel the need to make things “a little different”. Hence the ever-growing demand for bespoke handmade furniture and our growing range of products.

Handmade high quality products
The key to any commercial success is to deliver products within an acceptable timeframe but also ensure they are the highest quality possible. Here at Bowland Stoves we have a number of expert craftspeople working on a full-time basis to create and deliver our products. Finding a balance between quality bespoke furniture and acceptable delivery times can be challenging. While we prefer to focus on the quality of the products we also need to maintain one eye on delivery times. If we promise delivery and a specific date then we need to deliver.
When buying bespoke furniture it is important that they are made of the highest quality materials available. This ensures that they look the part, offer value for money and perhaps just as importantly they are extremely durable in what can be challenging weather conditions. We have tested, retested and tested again to ensure our products are extremely durable and also able to maintain that first day high quality finish. So, what type of products have we created so far?
BESPOKE Wooden planters
As you will see from the images below, we offer would planters made from an array of different woods including stained in silver birch or for those who like the more rustic look we can provide them untreated (check the full list of finishes below). To date we have sold wooden planters across a range of different dimensions starting at 500 mm x 535 mm x height of 460 mm up to 1500 mm x 415 mm x height of 350 mm. This takes in the traditional square-shaped wooden planters and the elongated variations many people seem to prefer today. However, these dimensions are by no means set in stone and we actively encourage our customers to come forward with their own particular requirements.
It may be that you have a particular corner which would appreciate a wooden planter even though it may have non-traditional dimensions. You may be looking for a centre display to catch the attention of your visitors and allow you to create a masterpiece you can be proud of. Either way, our skilled craftsmen are on hand to take your orders and then begin work on a handcrafted unique item for your garden.

What to do next
As we slowly begin to increase our product range we are open to suggestions you may have regarding additional products and different dimensions for our existing planters and sofa sets. This is not something we will rush because we are determined to maintain an exceptionally high quality product at an affordable price. None of our products will ever be mass produced, they will always be handcrafted which as you know takes time.

While the stove business continues to go from strength to strength we believe that our bespoke garden furniture range has the potential for huge growth going forward.
