The wood burning stoves UK market continues to grow with programs such as Grand Designs and other home-improvement programs feeding consumer demand for new products and new stoves. However, many people still have the impression of the old-style stove which is "dirty and dusty" when in reality this is very much not the case. So what can you expect from a wood burning stove?
Aside from the fact that the look and feel of wood burning stoves today is very different to that of 20 years ago, there have also been significant improvements in the underlying technology. Many stoves of today are 80% plus heat efficient which ensures that the vast majority of fuel which you use to feed your stove is converted into heat as efficiently as possible. Many people also forget that in these times of green taxes and environmental issues, wood burning stoves are at worst carbon neutral due to the fact that trees digest more carbon during their lifetime than they create during burning. It is also worthwhile noting that every tree chopped down for fuel will be replaced and UK wood stocks are replenished on an ongoing basis.
While there are a number of smokeless zones around the UK there are many DEFRA authorised stoves which can be used in these restricted areas. So while in years gone by there may have been issues for some people with regards to wood burning stoves and multifuel stoves, the vast majority of those in the UK will have no problem using DEFRA authorised products. The stove market today is very different to the stove market of 10 years ago, 20 years ago and beyond why not check it out?
